Transforming Roads Unleashing Smart Technologies (Texas TRUST)

Dates: August 2025 - Present

Project Role: Outreach Lead

Focus Areas: Public Engagement, User Communication, Education

Project Overview

In 2025, the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) was awarded $19.2 million under the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) V2X Accelerator Program to support the deployment of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies. The program aims to accelerate national adoption by deploying 15 V2X applications across Texas, including the Bryan/College Station and Greater Houston regions. These deployments are intended to evaluate impacts on public safety, identify operational challenges, and document lessons learned to support broader implementation.

Project Artifacts

Presented below are examples of educational materials I led the development of for the Texas Trust project website, along with sample screenshots of the website itself. While these artifacts highlight specific outputs, I contributed to content development and helped inform the design and functionality of the entire project website, with support from graphic specialists.

Project Website

The screenshots below illustrate the User Perspectives webpage. In developing our project website, it was important to establish clear goals for visitors. For this project, those included: 1) helping users understand how V2X technologies could benefit them directly, 2) why this federal initiative is a meaningful investment, and 3) providing project information.

I added this page to the website to address multiple goals and to challenge the common misconception that V2X technology is meant only for drivers. My aim was to create content that resonates with a wide audience by highlighting concerns expressed by various user groups over the years of my research, supported by visual aids.

Educational Materials

This sample one-pager is designed as educational material for public audiences and is one of several for which I led both the design and content development. It is part of a series that outlines the various use cases or V2X applications our team plans to deploy on public roadways.

The focus was on creating summary documents that describe our team’s efforts, using approachable language and a user-centered narrative to translate technical concepts into relatable information.
